「チューブリンの３０年後」

チュープリンは細胞内で多くの重要な働きをしている細胞骨格の一種、微小管を構成している蛋白質で、1968 年に毛利秀雄により新種の蛋白質として同定・命名された。第 42 回基礎生物学研究所コンフェレンス「TUBULIN: 30 YEARS LATER（チューブリンの30 年後）」は、チューブリン命名後 30 年を経過したのを機に、いろいろな生物を用いてチューブリンや徴小管の構造や機能を研究している国内外の第一線研究者を招いて行われ、終始活発な討論や情報交換が行われた。本会議の企画・内容についての参加者の評価は高く、この 30 年間におけるチューブリン研究の総括のみならず、今後の当該分野の研究動向を見極める上でも非常に有意義な会識であった。参加者は国外からの招待者 11 名を含め 60 名を越えたが、お互いの交流を深める上からも貴重な機会となった。なお、この会議での講演はすべて、original あるいは review paper として纏められ、Cell Structure and Function に掲載される予定である。
