Corrigioleae Caryophyllaceae

Corrigioleae is composed of two genera: Corrigiola and Telephium and distributed in Mediteranian to South Asia, Africa, and Chile (Stevens onward). Corrigioleae is different from other members in Caryophyllaceae in the following three characters (Gilbert 1987): (1) spirally arranged leaves to opposite leaves in others, (2) stipules are small and auriculate in contrast to connate triangular stipules in others, and (3) 1 seeded indehiscent fruits differently from dehiscent fruits in others.
