On April 28, 2026, the National Institute for Basic Biology (NIBB) signed an academic exchange agreement (MoU) with the University of Konstanz.
The Konstanz Research School Chemical Biology (KoRS-CB) and the Collaborative Research Center 1756 (CRC 1756) at the University of Konstanz comprise researchers from both biology and chemistry fields, actively advancing research in chemical biology. CRC 1756 is a dedicated program funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) at the University of Konstanz, and serves as a central initiative to advance both education and research within the field of chemical biology.
Prior to this agreement, NIBB, KoRS-CB, and CRC 1756 have already engaged in collaborative research concerning plant membrane traffic, alongside mutual visits by researchers.
During the visit to NIBB in February 2026, the delegation from KoRS-CB and CRC 1756 representatives held in-depth discussions with NIBB representatives regarding the conclusion of a formal partnership agreement. Following these meetings, the partnership agreement was officially exchanged and signed by both institutions, formalizing the collaborative relationship.
Upon the formalization of this agreement, it is hoped that collaborative research projects, reciprocal visits from students, and the sharing of techniques and information will be actively conducted between both institutes.
