Call for participants for the EMBO | COB Workshop “Trans-Scale Biology using exotic non-model organisms”

We are pleased to announce that National Institute for Basic Biology (NIBB) will be hosting the EMBO | COB Workshop on “Trans-Scale Biology using exotic non-model organisms” in Okazaki, Japan from July 25th (Tue) to 27th (Thu). This event is supported by the European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO) and the Company of Biologists (COB).

This symposium will bring together researchers who are pioneering new biology using exotic non-model organisms. While some issues such as breeding methods are specific to each model system, many issues including the development of genome editing and imaging protocol, genomic resources are common problems. We hope that this workshop will provide a platform for researchers to exchange valuable information across species and disciplines.

We encourage researchers who are interested in the workshop’s theme to join us.

We call for poster presentations. We have a limited number of travel grants available for participants.

For more details, please visit our workshop website:

We look forward to welcoming you to Okazaki and sharing valuable insights into the exciting field of Trans-Scale Biology.

Important date:
The registration for poster presentaiion deadlines April 30th, 2023, extended to May 15th (Mon)
The registration deadlines June 15th, 2023

Moreover, a satellite meeting related to the EMBO Workshop will be held at the same venue on July 28th (Fri), 2023. This meeting is organized by two KAKENHI research groups in Japan and is focusing on "Bioimaging in scattering and fluctuating fields" and "Body shape and construction". For detail, we will link to the meeting website later.
