RESEARCH: Evolution of carnivorous plants (2) Evolution of digestive enzymes

Collaboration work with Dr. Kenji Fukushima at Colorado Univ. Graduate students are welcome to join.

To investigate the origin and evolution of digestive enzymes, we isolated digestive enzymes in digestive fluid of Drosera adelae, Cephalotus forliculus, Nepethes alata, and Sarracenia purpurea and analyzed their corrsponding genes. Graduate students who are interested in the secretion mechanisms and evolution of the enzymes are welcome to join.
