Call for active participants for the 8th Okazaki Biology Conference “Speciation and Adaptation II”- Environment and Epigenetics - (Application has been closed.)

The Okazaki Biology Conferences (OBC) hosted by the National Institute for Basic Biology (NIBB) are international conferences aiming to create new international networks of scientists as well as to facilitate the development of future areas of research in the biological sciences. The theme of the 8th OBC will be "Speciation and Adaptation II - Environment and Epigenetics -".  (website: https://www.nibb.ac.jp/obc/8th/)

"Speciation and adaptation" is a fundamental research area of evolutionary biology, continuously engaged in by researchers from various scientific disciplines. At the Conference, we will explore a new direction of evolutionary studies by integrating theoretical and experimental genetics, environmental, evolutionary, and ecological genomics, developmental biology, and epigenetics, using a variety of organisms. We are calling for poster presenters, who will each have an opportunity to give a 3-min talk.

This conference will be held exclusively for active participants aiming for lively discussion. Those hoping to take part in the discussions should apply to give a poster presentation. Preference will be given to applicants who will attend the entirety of the conference schedule.

Application deadline is January 30th, 2012. (Acceptance notification will be e-mailed by February 10th, 2012)
