The National Institute for Basic Biology (NIBB) promotes “Trans-Scale Biology” to comprehensively understand biological phenomena across various multilayers, from genes to macromolecules, organelles, cells, tissues, organs, individuals, and populations.
To promote “Trans-Scale Biology”, Trans-Scale Biology Center (TSB) was established. The TSB Center is an organization that integrates the former NIBB Core Research Facilities; NIBB BioResource Center, and the Center for the Development of New Model organisms, with the addition of a newly established facility in charge of AI analysis. In order to integrate and analyze genetic data, transomics data, and bioimaging data over various spatiotemporal scales of model organisms and new model organisms, we have introduced AI in addition to conventional analysis methods.
In order to promote efficient collaborative research on Trans-Scale Biology through close cooperation among the six facilities in TSB Center, we have established the Promotion Office. We will strongly promote support and collaborative research based on our knowledge and experience in effectively using them in addition to facilities and equipment within the center.
