1. The NIBB Collaborative Research

The applications are submitted from November to early December of the previous fiscal year. In addtion, you can apply at any time during the year until the end of October, however it takes two months from application to approval.

How to use:For Researchers except NIBB, NIPS, IMS, ExCELLS


Researchers who belong to universities or research institutes can use our facility through the following two systems:
1. NIBB Collaborative Research

- Target equipment: All (Okazaki Large Spectrograph, Microscopes, Behavior analyzer)
- Target researchers: Researchers who belong to universities or research institutes
- Other: Travel expenses can be paid (only in Japan)
 

2. ABiS (Advanced Bioimaging Support)

- Target equipment: Microscopes, micro X-ray CT
- Target researchers: Researchers who supported by KAKENHI (Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research) 
 

Request for Publication

We request that you publish the work using our facility in the form of a peer-reviewed paper as soon as possible.

Request for Acknowledgement

All works published that include results obtained using the SBI equipment must be acknowledged and a copy of the publication should be sent as paper or pdf to the facility.

(1) Flow of the NIBB collaborative research application [Okazaki Large Spectrograph]

1. Prior consultation

Please consult with SBI staff about your experiment in advance.

2. Web application

 
Please go from NOUS sysytem
Please select "the use of Okazaki Large Spectrograph" as the collaborative research category.

3. Acceptance notification

We will review your application and notify you of the results.

4. Machine Reservation

Regular Reservation
We will ask for your preferred schedule by e-mail and coordinate your schedule to include other research group. Regulerly we will send you the e-mail around February for April-September use and around August for October-next March use. Please reply with your request.
Additional Reservation
If there is free machine time after regular machine reservation, you can make a reservation additonaly. Pleaser check the following calender and contact us.

5. Experiment execution
6. Report submission

Please submit your experiment report by the end of April of the following year on the NOUS system.
The report will be posted on the NIBB website.

1. Prior consultation

Please consult with SBI staff about your experiment in advance.

Please select "Integrated imaging" as the collaborative research category.

3. Acceptance notification

We will review your application and notify you of the results.

4. Scheduling Experiment

Please contact us once you have decided on your desired visit experiment schedule. We will reserve the equipment you need for your experiment.
 

5. Experiment execution

 

6. Report submission

Please submit your experiment report by the end of April of the following year on the NOUS system.
The report will be posted on the NIBB website.

(3) Flow of the NIBB Collaborative Research Application 【Behavior analyzer : Individual】

Applications are usually submitted from November to early December of the previous year, but applications are also accepted at any time. (Application within the year is until the end of October)
The flow of application and use is as follows.

1. Prior consultation

Please consult with the person in charge of Spectrography and Bioimaging Facility in advance regarding the experiment.
 

2. Web application

Please go from Application system NOUS
Please select " individual" as the collaborative reasarch category.
 

3. Acceptance notification

After the examination, we will inform you of the decision result of acceptance or rejection.
 

4. Experiment execution

For each visit, please submit the visit experiment schedule. Depending on the availability of staff and equipment, we may not be able to meet your request at the most recent visit, so please contact us as soon as the experimental schedule is decided.

5. Report submission

The proposal representative must submit the research report within 30 days after the joint research (usually at the end of April of the following year). The report will be posted on the NIBB website.

Flow of ABiS Application

Normally, applications are accepted twice a year in the first half (around May to June) and the second half (around October to November). However, applications are also accepted outside the open period.
