I very well remember my first visit of Japan. This brought us together at the National Institute for Basic Biology where I had the pleasure to present our joint work funded by the Human Science Frontier Programme. I had the privilege to get to know the National Institute for Basic Biology and several of the colleagues working in Plant Sciences. It was a fantastic experience!
It is a pleasure not only to deliver my own personal wishes for further successful research, but also to deliver the best wishes from the Albert-Ludwigs-University Freiburg and its Center for Systems Biology (ZBSA, Zentrum fur Biosystemanalyse). I am almost sure that again strong academic alliances will be formed promoting future basic and applied international research activities. |

I first visited the future Kiseiken while it was still under construction, accompanying Professor Haruo Kanatani. He was a topnotch biologist, eventually a wonderful director of Kiseiken, and always my close and beloved friend. Over the years I have visited Okazaki and Kiseiken almost annually and met here scientists of major international significance. Kiseiken was and is a center of truly heroic and innovative investigators. I want to extend my heartiest congratulations on the Institute's anniversary and wish it continuing brilliant success in the decades to come.

On the occasion of the 30th Anniversary of the establishment of National Institute for Physiological Sciences (NIPS), I have the honor to extend my congratulations to your institute. With 30 years of efforts,the NIPS has made remarkable scientific achievements,setting an excellent example for international academic cooperation.
The National Institute for Physiological Science (NIPS),National Institutes of Natural Sciences(NINS) and the National University of Uzbekistan(NUU) have come along a long way in the past years. Especially,both NINS and NUU concluded an 'Agreement on Academic Exchange between National Institutes of Natural Sciences and National University of Uzbekistan' in 2005. I am very much pleased that the academic cooperation between NIPS and NUU has grown from the first visit of Prof. Sabirov Ravshan in 1994 into continued collaboration and joint-research projects on longer terms. A number of excellent papers in high-ranked international journals evidence the productiveness of our collaboration.
It is my hope to maintain and further enhance the cooperative relation as well as the intellectual and educational exchange between our two Institutes. Also,I wish you prosperous future. |
