The Petal Specific Promoter/
The InMYB1 gene encodes the MYB transcriptional regulator enhancing anthocyanin pigmentation in the petals of the Japanese morning glory (Morita et al., 2006).
Its promoter is thought to act as a petal-specific promoter, and can promote petal-specific expression of a GUS (β-glucuronidase) reporter gene in the stable transformants of Arabidopsis and Eustoma (Azuma et al., 2016a).
It was used as a molecular tool to analyze flower petal development in Arabidopsis (Azuma et al., 2016b), and is expected to be applied in the molecular breeding of floricultural crops. We are preserving three expression vectors with the GUS reporter gene driven by the InMYB1 promoter.
There are three vectors, each carrying a different length promoter (1 kb, 2 kb, 3 kb), and the shortest 1-kb promoter is sufficient for petal-specific and strong GUS expression.
Requesters should make two sets of the original Material Transfer Agreement (MTA) before vector distribution. A handling expense (¥ 3,800), shipping cost, and credit card processing fee will be requested.
Please also see "Distribution Procedures" for more information.
Another vector (InMYB1_332-121b×3_TATA_Ω::GUS) which has been newly developed by Dr. Mirai Higashi and her collaborators will also be available from 2019. See the following paper for details (Azuma et al., 2018).

※1 The InMYB1 promoter may not work as effectively as hoped because lower density and weak GUS spots were observed in the petals of Stock and the tepals of Dendrobium.
※2 Not determined.
