Force in Development

Message

Dear Colleagues:

Organisms, particularly during early embryogenesis, grow in the limited space of their embryos and thus tissues generate and receive various forces. Physical force is currently understood as an essential environmental factor that is actively involved in morphogenesis of organisms. At this symposium, entitled “Force in Development”, we aim to promote our understanding of the mechanisms of force generation in the process of drastic cell movements and tissue remodeling, and how these forces contribute to normal development. We are very happy that a great lineup of distinguished scientists in the field can get together in Okazaki and discuss these important emerging problems in biology.
