About our support categories

  • SUMMARY SUPPORT

This includes the operation and close coordination of our support activities in four categories, shown below. In particular, we promote provision and sharing of information via website and other media to make ABiS well-known. In addition, we organize technology training sessions, workshops, and symposia to disseminate advanced imaging technologies and share information about them. We will also coordinate with other platforms to provide multidisciplinary and international support.

  • LIGHT MICROSCOPY

In order to capture the temporospatial dynamics of molecules, cells, and tissues at high rate and high resolution, we provide support for observation using advanced light microscopy and specialized observation technologies, appropriate selection and application of probes, and resolution of research subjects that require special specimen preparation or observation environments (e.g., plants and marine organisms).

  • ELECTRON MICROSCOPY

For advanced electron microscopy, we provide support for observation structural arrangement of biopolymer complexes, observation of three-dimensional microscopic structures of tissues and cells, and observation of microscopic structure in the same visual field as fluorescence microscopy. We also provide technical guidance for all stages of the analytical process, from specimen preparation to observation.

  • MRI

We support research on brain imaging and similar tasks by providing standardized magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques to visualize and quantitatively analyze the structures and functions of living bodies. We also assist with optimization of these techniques for individual research projects.

  • IMAGE ANALYSIS

Upon users’ applications and demands, we support the extraction of information about morphology or dynamics from images captured using light microscopy, electron microscopy, or magnetic resonance imaging, as well as quantitative analysis or visualization of such information.
