Abstract :
Production of gametes, i.e., eggs and sperms, is essential for the continuity of life. In this symposium, impacts of recent advance for this issue will be discussed by scientists, who have a wide variety of unique views. These include establishment of germ line, sex differentiation, gamete stem cells, and their regulation. Their scope also ranges from basic research to application.
