Morphological characters of <em>Hydrocotyle<\/em> are indicated as plus marks. Therefore, <em>Hydrocotyle<\/em> was classified into the Apiaceae. This suggests sympodial branching, in which an inflorescence is a terminal shoot and an extending vegetative shoot is an axillary shoot of a leaf.
